Once there was a man named Matt Cutts who was the most known person at the Google web spam team. Matt would make videos, write blogs and talk a lot about Google and SEO.

But one day, out of the blue, Matt Cutts disappeared. And no one knew what to do.

People looked high and low, but he was nowhere to be found. So one day, a young internet marketer decided enough was enough.

He went over to Search Engine Land. But Danny Sullivan said “No I haven’t seen him. Maybe he is on Moz using Open Site Explorer Tool to check backlinks?”

So the little boy went over to Moz. But Rand Fishkin said, “No I haven’t seen him. Maybe he is on Quick Sprout reading posts.”

The boy left a comment on Quick Sprout, and Neil Patel got right back to him and said. “No Matt hasn’t left a comment here in a long time.”

The boy was very sad. But he knew one more place to check. He went over to Search Engine Roundtable and asked Barry Schwartz. “Have you see Matt?” Barry said, “I have, I know where Matt is. But you can’t tell anyone because the Google PR team will get mad at me.”
The little boy said, I won’t tell. Pleeese tell me. There is so much spam in the index. We need to get it out!

Barry said, “Ok, but I have a confidentiality agreement with Google. I can only tell you this. Go ask Jon Mueller.”
“Shesh, ok said the little boy.”

The little boy went over to the Google Webmaster Hangout. When his turn came to ask a question he asked, “John Mueller, we really like you, but where is Matt Cutts?!”

Mueller said, “Do you really want to know?” The boy said, “Yes please!”
