This is a special report.
Yesterday, Google announced that starting April 21, they will rank your website higher if it is mobile friendly. Google said this New Mobile Ranking Update will have a “significant impact” on search results worldwide. So this means if your website is not mobile friendly (there is a lot that goes into this) you will lose rankings, traffic and revenue from the Google organic traffic channel.
In addition to this change, Google has stated they will be using information from indexed applications as a ranking factor. This makes application SEO all the more important.
There are really three things you can do to make sure you are mobile ready.
1. Test your website with the mobile testing tool.
2. Make sure you have a clean webmaster tools usability report.
3. Make sure you have good page speed.
As far as application SEO, you can learn more about it here in our guide.
Outside of this, the only other thing I would say is keep in mind CRO when you switch to mobile. I have seen some really bad usability errors when making this transition that have cost companies a lot of revenue.
