New Fetch as Googlebot Option in Search Console, Upcoming?

Andy Kelly, one of our project managers here at Ignite Visibility, noticed a new fetch as Googlebot option today, “Mobile: Smartphone – Upcoming.”

Here we see the new option.

This mysterious new option has the SEO community wondering… What is upcoming?

You can use this option just like you can the rest of them. It appears to work.

I was able to complete a render request for the Ignite Visibility website. It seems to work just like the other option.

So now we are all left wondering. What exactly is “upcoming?”

Is it AMP related? Is a bug?
