If you want to be successful in the digital space, you need a plan to get noticed and grab traffic from Google.
In this article, I’ll go over 4 tried-and-true strategies that will boost your views and get your website some easy Google traffic.
1. Google Trends to Increase Google Traffic
Being on the first page of Google search results puts you directly in front of your targeted audience and is a great way to get easy Google traffic. Studies show that the top three to four results on the search page have the highest click-through rates.
Creating a page that responds to the most popular queries will increase your chances of securing a spot on the coveted first search results page.
Google Trends is a free service that gives digital marketers a lot of valuable information to use in their content creation and strategy preparation.
There are a couple of reports inside of Google Trends that are specifically important to pay attention to if you want to increase your Google SEO traffic.
The first one to look for is the real-time searches report. This will tell you the queries people are searching for in real-time over the course of a single day.
Not only will it show you the day’s most popular search terms, but it will also show you the time of day the search interest peaked as well as the number of news articles published on the topic over the course of the last 24 hours.
The second report you should check is the daily search report. This one allows you to see the number of searches a particular query had on a particular day. It also links to related news articles so you can see what other people are saying about your keyword and what type of content Google is serving for your query.
The third report to become familiar with is the breakout, or related, queries report.
Found on each query’s explore page, the breakout queries report will show you search terms that are associated with your original query. This helps to give you ideas of what your potential audience is searching for that corresponds to your original query.
Once you have the information from these reports, you can use it to identify terms that have jumped into the Google search market recently. Use this information to create content that answers searchers’ questions and solves their problems.
For example, if your page content contains information on thought leadership and you see that Elon Musk is trending, consider adding his name and information to your page. This boosts the likelihood that the algorithm will pick up your page as a search result when someone searches for Elon Musk.
The breakout queries report also gives you an idea of which queries to use when creating content on trending topics and evergreen content. A specific query, i.e. Taylor Swift, may be trending today and would be helpful if you want to create content to be seen right now but the related queries of popstar, pop music, or female singer will help you create more evergreen content.
Once your new page is created and indexed using some of your new search terms, you can sit back and enjoy the spike in page traffic.
2. Google Search Console for Easy Google Traffic
Google Search Console is another incredible tool from Google that provides valuable insights on how to get more traffic from a Google search.
If you click on the Search Results Report under the Performance tab of your website’s Google Search Console, it will often show you all the searches where Google serves a page on your website.
This is especially helpful information when you’re looking for ways to obtain some easy Google traffic because it is customized to your site. You won’t have to weed through popular keywords that aren’t related to your content.
In fact, you will often find search terms where Google is serving your website, even if you don’t have a page that is actually optimized for that term.
For example, if you have a website on bicycles, you might notice inside of Google Search Console that Google shows your page when someone searches for ‘red bicycles’ – even if your page is only optimized for the word ‘bicycles’. Now that you have that information, you can make adjustments to your website to include a page on red bicycles.
This newly updated page will help you jump to the top of the search results page because Google loves to rank new content — especially content that is tailored to familiar keywords that you found inside of Google Search Console.
It’s almost as if they are doing the work for you to increase your Google SEO traffic!
3. Analyze Click-Through Rates of Past Content
Among the customized information you can find in Google Search Console is a list of your click-through rates, broken down by page.
If utilized successfully, this information can give you insight into what content is resonating with your audience and which content you need to adjust or update.
Start by looking at the pages of your website that have very high click-through rates. These are the pages on your site that are grabbing the attention of your audience and working to support your cause.
Depending on where you draw your traffic from, a high click-through rate can be anywhere from 10-40%. You’ll be able to clearly see which of your pages is performing better than the others by looking at the report from Google Search Console.
Once you have determined which pages on your site are pulling the most traffic, take note of their titles, their descriptions, and any other identifying content or information.
Then look at the pages on your website that have lower click-through rates. Compare their titles and descriptions to the pages that have higher click-through rates.
You can also take note of how many keywords your more successful pages are utilizing and work that amount of keywords into your lower-performing pages. You don’t want to stuff your site with unnecessary keywords but each page should have enough keywords to grab the attention of the Google search bots.
To boost your Google SEO traffic, incorporate what is working on the pages with a high click-through rate into their titles and descriptions and add more popular keywords to your page content.
By taking a little time to simply update your poorly performing titles and descriptions and optimize your page’s keywords, you’re going to get more traffic with little effort.
4. Google Question Hub to Find Content Gaps
Another cool tool from Google is the Google Question Hub. Content creators and digital marketers can use it to create richer, more educational, and better tracking content.
Inside of this hub, Google lists all of the search questions they’ve found that they don’t have content for yet.
These questions are just waiting for someone to answer them! With little competition, utilizing these questions is the perfect way for you to get easy Google traffic to your page.
If you’re looking to increase the traffic to your site, log into the Question Hub, find questions that are relevant to your content, and create a page on your website answering those exact questions.
Once you have the page created that answers the specific questions listed, submit them for review by Google. They will then decide if your content answers the questions you found in the hub.
By handing your content directly to Google, you are cutting out the middleman of hoping your keywords get caught when being indexed.
This will speed up the process of getting your content on the first few search results pages and increase the likelihood that your other content will be indexed with this related content.
Now whenever that question is searched, Google will serve the user your website. This is an excellent way to get super easy Google traffic!
