Will Gmails Recent Change Kill Promotional Email Marketing?

For those of you who don’t know, Gmail just made a HUGE change. They are now organizing emails in 3 segments. They are Primary, Social and Promotions. In order to see your social and promotion emails, you have to actively click on a tab to see them. You can also further segment your inbox by adding more tabs such a Updates or Forums. About 61% of people use Gmail as their email service. So this is going to have a major impact. While that is the case, many people check their email on their smart phone. At this point, there is no segmentation on a phone. Let’s take a look.
