Why Some SEO Companies are Losing in the New World

August 28, 2013 By John E Lincoln

If you want to win in any aspect of Internet marketing you need to innovate. This is probably truer in PPC, SEO and social media than most other marketing mediums. If the company you are using does not have a person at the helm that is constantly pushing the boundaries, studying like crazy and implementing the latest and greatest, you will undoubtedly fall behind. Because of this basic principal, many search companies are not only losing clients. They are hurting clients.

Here are a few reasons why some SEO companies are having trouble keeping up with the new world of SEO.

Still Building Bad Links

Believe it. New websites are getting penalty notices every day. Why? SEO companies are still building bad links to websites. Once those bad links cross a certain threshold that is when you get a notification and penalty. Any SEO company who is still implementing these strategies for clients will not have those clients for long. Instead, that client will be looking for a company to get rid of their Google penalty.

LoserConfused on New Strategies and Directions

Older SEO companies often hold on to things that used to work far too long. And when there are many SEOs working at the same company, new strategies can be hard to implement. A good SEO company in the modern age will have clear direction and updated strategies that deliver.

Not In-Tune with Social Media and SEO Integration

Many SEO companies think of social media and SEO as totally different things. But really they are now the same. Think about it, all we are trying to do is squeeze traffic out of websites. Google is a website just like any other. They just happen to have a more complicated way of getting traffic and a higher reward when accomplished.

Social media helps with SEO. There is no question about it. Those SEO companies who have poorly integrated strategies are not delivering as well as they could be for clients.

Not Focused on the Big Picture

It is not just about SEO, it is about overall traffic, conversions, analytics metrics, social communities, email, etc. There are so many things to online marketing. A great SEO company understands this and they don’t just get a little search traffic for a client and call it a day. If that traffic is not converting, if they do not have a great online brand or good social, a search company should help them with that.

They are OK with Churn and Burn

SEO has gotten a bad name from companies that will say anything to get you in the door. They then take your money and never deliver. This happens a lot with the bigger companies. They have been doing it for so long it is just another deal to them and they don’t care about getting results. They just care about increasing their own revenue.

At Ignite Visibility, we pride ourselves on honesty, hard work and innovation. We promise never to fall into one of these ruts and always deliver top results for clients.

What do you think? What is important for SEO companies to do so that they can win in the new world of SEO?
