A fearless and hands-on leader, Babel lives and breathes marketing.
Not only was it his major at Colorado State University, but he decided to pursue an M.B.A. in the same discipline at the University of Colorado in 2016, paving the way for a successful marketing career in the travel and technology space.
In his LinkedIn profile, he describes himself as a “Marketo champion for all North American marketing activities.” According to his fellow colleagues at CTM, he’s much more than that.
Around the time Babel was hired at CTM in September 2020, the organization was not only undertaking its most significant acquisition, but the marketing team was in the middle of implementing Marketo worldwide and consolidating to one CRM. This may have been a perfect storm of disruption; however, it didn’t dissuade Babel from confronting these challenges head-on.
As a travel management company that was already struggling to cope with the difficulties that came with the COVID-19 pandemic, Babel focused his efforts on ensuring that content, communications, and the CTM brand did not fade into the background. He led the charge during this tough time to create COVID-19 pandemic-related content with the purpose of keeping followers engaged and informed.
Amid the chaos, he never failed in getting CTM’s message out there—keeping clients updated on changes while instilling confidence in the travel industry again. Anytime he received feedback from executive leadership, he would turn it into actionable and tangible marketing resources to support CTM’s lead generation and client retention strategies.
“There is no blueprint as to how to weather a pandemic in the travel industry. Each day my tasks are different, and we are required to change communication efforts as we flow through what a new world of travel looks like. Though it can be challenging, it’s exhilarating to be part of something that can make a difference in how our world recovers,” says Babel.
In his current role at CTM, Babel is responsible for creating highly targeted content via organic and paid channels including search engine, display, gated content, social media advertising, and email marketing. He is also tasked with maintaining and growing an effective customer pipeline and generating travel bookings through digital marketing channels.
Utilizing Marketo for the design and delivery of highly targeted automated and non-automated digital marketing campaigns, Babel is always looking for new ways to refine and optimize performance, efficiency, and ROI.
Prior to joining CTM, Babel served as a content marketing specialist for ReportsNow Inc. for 2 years, where he oversaw all intellectual property and content marketing initiatives. He was also a marketing consultant at CBIZ MHM, LLC, and a marketing coordinator at the University of Colorado and Lynx Global Intelligence.
