In this edition of Marketer of the Week, Ignite Visibility spotlights Kristian Borghesan, Director of Marketing at FutureVault.
Ignite Visibility applauds Kristian Borghesan for his ability to brand businesses in a way that creates consistent brand recognition to help them achieve sustainable success.
Kristian Borghesan
Described by his co-workers as an all-around go-getter, Ontario-based Kristian Borghesan is an experienced marketing leader. Borghesan has been featured in publications such as MSN, MSN Money, DataBox, Global News, CMS, WiRE, CHCH, Cable 14, and more.
Success for Kristian Borghesan is found through the key principles that guide his day-to-day life: respect, integrity, discipline, and pure grit.
However, he wasn’t always the rockstar marketer he is today. Borghesan’s first job was as a dishwasher at age 15 or 16. He learned that life can be tough and work can be difficult and messy, but at the end of the day it’s up to you to decide how it will affect you.
Fast forward a few years to 2016 when Borghesan started his career with his first job in the marketing and advertising space. As a Digital Ad Platforms Specialist, he worked with well-known brands such as Canadian Tire, Metro, and Red Bull. He launched approximately 40 campaigns and 1250 creatives per month alongside his senior counterpart.
In 2015, he become the Co-Founder and Head of Growth & Marketing at Brüha, an online event marketplace. Brüha changes the way people interact with their local community, discover events, and buy tickets. Here Borghesan was directly responsible for acquiring the company’s first 400 customers, driving $5M+ in gross ticket sales, and building an organic online following of over 50,000.
He then spent two and a half years as a business instructor at Mohawk College in Ontario in the Continuing Education department.
After getting his feet wet, Borghesan moved onto Planswell, an Ontario-based financial planning firm. Through his role as Marketing Manager, he was able to provide Canadians with the support they needed to establish a sustainable financial future.
Borghesan was then named the Director of Marketing for Savology, an American-based financial security firm. Here, he was responsible for executing all areas of the firm’s marketing content strategy, including content creation, managing social media accounts, email marketing, and SEO. During Borghesan’s time at Savology, he and the team were able to help more than 40,000 households gain access to free financial planning tools.
In March 2021 Borghesan joined the team at FutureVault. In just a few months, he has been able to turn their marketing department into a well-oiled machine that is changing the way marketing is done in the information storage technology industry.
Borghesan’s Entrepreneurial Spirit
In addition to his successful roles in corporate marketing, Borghesan has also founded many successful businesses throughout his career.
As listed on his LinkedIn, he is the Founder and President of various startups in Canada. He often connects Canadian founders and entrepreneurs with each other to build relationships and scale their businesses.
Never one to shy away from a start-up, Borghesan was also the co-host of the podcast, The Art of the Fail with Chris Buttenham, co-founder of Obie.ai, which is now Lessonly.
On this podcast, Borghesan and his co-host discussed the hardships and failures that come along with the life of an entrepreneur in the world of start-ups. By talking openly about their struggles and failures, their hope was that they could help eliminate the stigma surrounding failure in the business world.
While hosting the podcast, Borghesan co-founded ARCH Canada, a start-up that helps first-time homebuyers in Canada gain access to the financing tools and solutions they need to make homeownership a reality.
When asked what advice he would give to young entrepreneurs he suggested, “Get out, try new things, experiment, explore and experience. An idea or a thought is only just that until you act on it and execute. And if you fail, then fail fast. Learn from your mistakes and move on. But no matter what, always be learning and always be improving yourself.”
FutureVault
In addition to his work at ARCH, Borghesan is also the Director of Marketing at FutureVault, a Digital Vault Platform.
In just a few short months, Borghesan has been able to rebuild FutureVault’s marketing foundation and infrastructure, including creating a new corporate website and implementing monthly newsletters to keep their current and prospective clients up-to-date on the company’s news and events.
Using his strong leadership and innovative marketing strategies, Borghesan has reworked the company’s positioning and messaging to create alignment across the company’s marketing, sales, and client success departments.
Thanks to his hard work, clients now have a much more consistent and satisfying experience with FutureVault.
“Developing a successful relationship goes beyond just pushing out content that they may (or may not) read. And I think that’s why it’s important to also focus on building a community. Building a community is what will help to differentiate you from your competitors. You’re showing them that you care about them, their challenges, and their needs,” Kristian Borghesan states.
This is just the beginning for Borghesan and FutureVault.
Now that he has implemented a clean and consistent marketing strategy, Borghesan looks forward to taking the messaging to the next level to increase brand awareness and help more organizations safely store, manage, and collaborate on important information and documents with their clients.
