Delayed or Cancelled Flight? No Problem – Google Offers Easy Alternatives

August 15, 2014 By John E Lincoln

google now airplane feature

Google isn’t just the top source for navigating you around in your vehicle anymore, they have taken their powers to the skies. We all know the airport is a chaotic place to be, especially when flights are being delayed or even cancelled. Well, now Google is here to help with that. Google Now has just released a new feature, where it will be suggesting “alternative flights or options when your flight is delayed or cancelled.” Travelers around the world will be praising this new feature. Not only that, Google Now will even suggest things to do around the area while you are waiting on the next flight. Such as checking out landmarks or popular places to visit in the area.

So those days of waiting in the long lines to speak with an irritated airport employee are gone. Google Now will allow you to find alternative routes when you encounter unforeseen issues such as a cancellation. This reminds me of Waze, which Google acquired over a year ago. The usual route home is full of traffic? No problem, Waze will suggest alternative routes to get you home quicker. Well the new Google Now feature essentially does just this, but for
airplanes. On another positive note, this feature also works for trains and buses. Traveling just got a lot less stressful!

What are your thoughts on this? I’m sure it will be highly appreciated by those who travel frequently.
