The new kid on the block is the Google Keyword Planner. In this post we will cover how to specify match type in the new Google Keyword Planner Tool.
But first, what is match type? Take a look at the chart below for all the information you need on keyword match type.

Now that you know what match type is, we can discuss how to specify match type in the new Google Keyword Planner Tool.
When you log in to the tool, select modify search.
Next, select “Enter or upload keywords to see how they perform”
To specify match type, add punctuation.
Broad Match: New York hotels
Phrase Match: “New York hotels”
Exact Match: [new York hotels]
While this is how you are supposed to do it, right now it does not appear to be working. I am sure Google will fix this soon.
