Google has just launched a new product known as Google My Business. The main purpose of Google My Business is to, “New – Google My Business connects you directly with customers, whether they’re looking for you on Search, Maps or Google+.”
This new interface is an attempt by Google to integrate Google Places and Google +, creating one central area to control your Google profile listings. Google My Business allows you to put your information on Google Maps, Google Search and Google + all from one location.
This new feature of Google will be highly visible on mobile and will be the main area where data is pulled from for mobile Google maps. In addition, it will serve as the interface to update Google +. According to Google, “Google My Business helps you build a loyal fan base. Your customers can show their appreciation with ratings and reviews, use the +1 button to endorse your content, and re-share your Google+ posts across the web.”
Google lays out the main qualities of this product well here.
This is perhaps the best integration we have had yet with Google platforms. It will be interesting to see how the business community responds to Google My Business as it is more heavily adopted.
